PILLLAR BACKLINE SESSIONS
In 2026, Pilllar Forum launched the Backline Sessions and brought me in to direct. The idea is that every artist builds a show that only exists for one night in that room. Bugsy set up in the corner of the coffee shop and played nothing but new material off their unreleased album for about 40 people, which is a long way from the stages they usually fill. We shot it handheld and stayed on our feet, weaving between the band and the crowd, because that closeness was the whole point. Between the performance and the interviews, we were after the band and the reason local shows matter in the first place.
