In 2026, my close friend Doron Clark was heading into his first regular election as a state senator. His first year and a half in office had been a chaotic sprint. It started with a four-week special election nobody saw coming, then turned into months in the streets defending his neighbors during Operation Metro Surge. A traditional campaign video just didn’t feel right for the moment, so we made a love letter to our neighbors instead. Doron’s a distance runner, so I spent the summer chasing him around the city at dawn with an iPhone and an anamorphic lens, sometimes just the two of us and sometimes with a few hundred of our neighbors running right alongside him. A couple of them may have gotten a little misty eyed watching it.
